Job Description
Overview:You have the ability to impact our patient’s lives by influencing the nourishment we provide them. Our hospitality focused environment includes the provision of tasty, nutritional and appealing food. It can impact their recovery and their daily state of mind. Come help us help them.
Essential Functions- 1. works closely with and provides guidance to the dietary team
- 2. Understands nutritional requirements for entire population and menu options available
- 3. Reviews and approves Menus (regular and therapeutic) and substitutions per policy
- 4. Completes nutritional assessments on residents within required timeframes and updates as necessary
- 5. Attends Care Plan meetings per policy (as needed)
- 6. Monitors weight gains/losses and determines interventions for those at nutritional risk (as needed)
- 7. Understands Nutrition Risk Tracking System
- 8. Makes recommendations on patient’s nutritional needs to nursing management and physicians
- 9. Audits meal services to assure compliance with systems, policies and procedures
- 12. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What we need from you:- B.S. Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
- Must maintain active state license and membership in State Dietetic Association and District Dietetic Association
- Prior experience as a (professional) registered dietitian in long-term care setting is required
