Argonne Accelerator Institute Director

Argonne invites applications for the position of Director of the Argonne Accelerator Institute (AAI). Argonne has extended expertise with cutting-edge ion and electron accelerator technologies. It operates major facilities such as the Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS), the Advanced Photon Source (APS) and Argonne Wakefield Accelerator (AWA) and has played key roles in the last 50 years in complex and ambitious DOE accelerator projects. The Argonne Accelerator Institute works to utilize Argonne’s extensive accelerator resources and complementary expertise available in multiple Argonne directorates, to strategically position Argonne as a leading center for research and innovation in accelerator technologies. It aims to promote innovative research, actively oversee a portfolio of key technologies with the potential to transform our existing facilities, to shape and determine the future of accelerator development and construction, and to oversee a dynamic and acclaimed center of excellence for accelerator physics with a broad portfolio.
