Magnet Program Manager

The Program Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Program Manager, Nursing leads complex planning and implementation of projects and ongoing programs that support the achievement of Northwestern Medicine and the division’s strategic goals.Responsibilities:Apply knowledge of project management (including change management) and leadership principles and tools to develop multi-disciplinary work plans, understand and manage stakeholders, coordinate internal and external resources necessary to execute on plans, develop and implement communication plans, and establish leadership and stakeholder forums to communicate regularly about progress, risks and escalating decisions.  This includes providing options and recommendations for mitigation strategies and necessary decisions.Develop and maintain collaborative, productive relationships with clients and team members, proactively linking individuals from multiple disciplines and business units to achieve desired outcomes in the appropriate forums (e.g., work groups, 1:1 meetings, small group meetings, etc.).  Create a culture of psychological safety among team members from all disciplines, departments and business units.  Support medical directors, operations leadership and staff as appropriate.Make recommendations for and execute on agreed upon process improvement projects that improve efficiency and mitigate departmental or institutional risk using quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, root cause analysis and/or DMAIC methodology.Summarize information verbally and in writing (e.g., email, PowerPoint, etc.) in different ways for different audiences with the goal of advancing the project with every conversation and meeting.  For all audiences, present data clearly, concisely and with proposed interpretation (what is the data telling us?).Serve as an informal leader in the department/division, a willing resource for team members and a supportive partner to the clinical staff.Additional Responsibilities:Responsible for Nurse Sensitive Data Program (NDNQI):Responsible for the oversight of participation in NDNQI and NDNQI Nurse Survey.Ensures data abstraction and entry timely and complete.Analyzes NDNQI results and provides to department management in a timely manner.Provides data analysis and graphs displaying results/trending.Works directly with department leadership to analyze data (current and prior) and develop/revise action plans to address.Responsible for Magnet Program Management :Partners with Magnet Program Director and Leadership to drive magnet culture, status and re-designation.Ensure an effective shared governance structure at each local hospitalAnalyzes and tracks Patient Experience, NDNQI , and Nurse Satisfaction data for performanceMaintains Magnet dashboards and shares with CNE, Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Leadership Team regularly.Develops and coordinates activities required to maintain and sustain ANCC Magnet Recognition Status, including but not limited to providing continuous education to leaders, nurses and ancillary staff on Magnet Recognition Program standards and expectationsSubmits timely application for Magnet Recognition (DDCT, Organizational Overview and Sources of Evidence, etc), verifying that all requirements are met prior to submissionDesigns and implements processes to maintain and sustain Magnet performance requirements on ongoing basis for re-application in partnership with nurse leaders and clinical nurses.Develops and maintains comprehensive data management systems that support information submission to the Magnet office and enables accurate tracking of key performance indicators.Coordinates readiness activities for Magnet site visit including but not limited to leading the Magnet Champions/Crew.Coordinates and track activities for the LEAD programTracks process improvement projects for Magnet SOE’s.Assists with writing and submissions for other accreditations and recognitions (Beacon, Lantern, Prism)Ensures mentorship programCoordinates and writes content for Nurse Annual report and periodic nursing newsletters
