The Premier Veterinary Group in Grayslake, IL is looking for a full timeVeterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department on swing shift! The primary responsibility is to triage and provide care for patients presenting to and hospitalized in our Emergency and Critical Care Department. The successful candidate embodies our culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. Schedule:
Full time needed (part time is available)
36+ hours per week
Swing shift - afternoons and nights
Includes weekends
Participation in some holiday coverage
Compensation:
Competitive hourly pay - dependent on experience
Shift differential also available!
Responsibilities:
Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
Partnering with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
Completing patient daily treatments in a timely manner at key treatment times
Assessing hospitalized patients, using intuitive skills as a Technician
Assisting with flow and organization of Emergency and Critical Caredepartment
Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
Utilizingdifferent modalities of imaging for patient assessment
Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above listed responsibilities satisfactory.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Skills and Experience:
General nursing care and treatment of patients
Administering and monitoring anesthesia
Assisting the veterinarian in procedures
Admitting and discharging patients
Client communication and education
Educational Requirements:
High School education or equivalent
Several years’ experience of related job experience
Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician preferred but all skill levels are encouraged to apply!
