Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individual for the position of Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time position based out of the Marklund Day School located in Geneva, IL. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements. Who We AreMarklund Day School is a well-known and respected nonpublic school serving students ages Pre K-22 who come to our school’s program through partnerships with various Chicago suburban school districts. Our Day School is a program of Marklund, a nonprofit organization that provides residential, therapeutic and education services to children and adults with profound developmental disabilities. Marklund Day School provides an environment conducive to learning through specialized curriculum, positive behavioral interventions, and individualized student support. The Marklund Life Skills Program is designed to provide specialized support to students who have learning and developmental disabilities and those identified on the Autism Spectrum. Performs a wide variety of secretarial work, including typing, prooing, filing recording information, and processing and distribution of all correspondence, much of which is of a confidential nature.

Schedules, organizes and expedites the workflow of the school site, and offers guidance and direction to other school personnel as needed.

Serves as a major program information resource person, acting as liaison between MDS school locations and departments. Dispenses pertinent information and direction to students, parents, staff and visitors.

Attends meetings as recorder, preparing minutes from notes. Types and composes a variety of materials from brief verbal or written instruction.

Maintains multiple calendars. Organizes appointments and staff meetings, and makes arrangements for school visitations and facility use.

Maintains and retrieves financial records, such as school budgets.

Requisitions, orders, and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and instructional materials.

Prepares all site purchase orders for the purchase of goods, materials, supplies and equipment.

Ability to perform a variety of secretarial work involving use of independent judgment, accuracy, speed and confidentiality.

Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent

3 years of Administrative Assistant or secretarial experience, preferably including experience in a school system.

Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Database experience required. Access and Power Point experience preferred.
