Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - AssemblyJob DescriptionThis position is for a Manufacturing Engineer on the Lower Powertrain Assembly Planning Team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, velocity, and cost efficiency in the assembly process. The role involves providing line support, investigating issues, and developing assembly processes and documentation.Responsibilities
Provide line support for Root Cause & Corrective Actions for safety, quality, velocity, and cost issues.
Follow the Safety CI Card process by discussing problems and solutions and updating the CI Card Originators.
Attend BIQ meetings to report on issues as assigned.
Create and maintain manufacturing engineering documentation such as Burden Sheets, Standard Work, Visual Aids, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Tool Orders, Torque Tool Requests, Routings, and Purchase Requisitions.
Respond to Continuous Improvement cards to support Safety, Velocity, Quality, and Cost.
Create standard work and assembly routings in CAPP+.
Update and create visual aids in PowerPoint.
Interface with Assemblers, Supervisors, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Tool Room personnel.
Respond to daily issues on the line and manage additional projects such as line layout.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret prints/BOMs.
Comfortable working on a manufacturing floor.
Knowledgeable in assembly processes and methods.
Initiative and excellent communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD.
Engineering degree or 10-15 years of experience.
Experience with CAPP+, MES, Teamcenter, and TOWS (tool orders).
Work EnvironmentThis role involves working on the manufacturing floor and interfacing with various departments including Assemblers, Supervisors, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and the Tool Room. The work involves creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, responding to daily issues, and managing projects such as line layout.
