Commercial storefront/glazing company seeks estimator. We are open to training. Prior experience in the field is preferred, but not required. Excellent opportunity for starting a career in the glazing industry or for an experienced estimator.
Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to review project plans,
specifications, and drawings
● Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather relevant information and
measurements
● Research and evaluate glazing materials, storefront systems, and components
● Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, encompassing materials, labor, equipment,
and subcontractor costs, based on project requirements and industry standards.
● Analyze and interpret project documents to identify potential risks, challenges,
and opportunities that may impact project costs and timelines.
● Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to gather competitive
pricing and negotiate cost-effective agreements.
● Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, including detailed
breakdowns of costs, profit margins, and project schedules.
● Present cost estimates and project proposals to clients, emphasizing key
features, benefits, and cost-saving opportunities.
● Continuously update and maintain a database of cost estimates, project
specifications, and industry pricing trends.
Qualifications:
● Prior experience in glazing or commercial storefronts preferred.
● College experience preferred.
● Proficiency in using construction estimating software and tools is a plus.
● Strong mathematical and analytical skills
● Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards is
beneficial.
