Cnc Machine Set Up/operator

Set up and program CNC Machine Center to form precision wood doors and components in a timely & efficient manner with minimal supervision. Plans numerical control program to control contour path machining of wood parts on automatic machine tools. Be able to maintain CNC Machine and perform scheduled maintenance for CNC & vacuum press. Paid training on CNC machine for first 8 weeks of work, for candidate that has some CNC experience.

1. Uses G-Code and or software program to program CNC Machine

2. Process daily orders and organize running schedule based on customer's orders

3. Install collets, bushings using wrenches and screwdrivers

4. Position and secure tool holders, verifying positions and gauges and other measuring instruments.

5. Revises program to eliminate instruction errors or omission if required

6. Observe operations of machine at all times while machine is in use

7. Perform mechanical tasked including loading and unloading vices, fixtures and parts

8. Establish and set appropriate tool offsets

9. Load material, starts machine, observe operation, and verifies all parts cut

10. Runs machine though cycle, stopping machine and adjusting tool positions & machine controls to allow for such factors as timing, clearance between moving parts.

11. Visually inspect production for burrs, scrapes, and other defects

12. Replace worn tools

13. Maintain organize and clean work area

14. Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instructions

15. Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and attendance requirements

Minimum Skills and Abilities Required

1. Minimum of 2 years of CNC machine experience, CNC trade school, actual CNC work experience with references

2. Mechanical ability to operate equipment

3. Blue print reading skills

4. Basic math and English skills

5. Ability to monitor machine sounds and identify changes

6. Basic computer knowledge and able to read and create excel spreadsheets

7. CAD and drawing experience a PLUS!

Minimum physical requirements

1. Stand, walk, push, pull and reach overhead, and bend to floor

2. Lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds of parts and or equipment occasionally throughout the workday

3. 20/20 vision with or without correction

4. Use of hands 100% of the workday

5. Ability to work in shop environment, exposure to high noise levels, moving equipment and machinery: exposure to dust, fumes, and exposure to chemicals including oils and cutting fluids.
