Job Summary
Join the dream team at Linmay Studio as an Apprentice Hair Assistant, working directly with Lindsay behind the chair. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone passionate about building a long-term, sustainable career in the beauty industry. You'll gain experience in a variety of disciplines, including hair color, retail, and client relations, all while receiving personalized mentorship. Most apprentices transition to taking their own clients within 9 months, making this the perfect role for those eager to grow both personally and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in all stages of hair color services: color mixing, washing, blow-drying, recommending retail products, rebooking appointments, and client checkout.
Collaborate with the team using salon management software such as Square.
Participate in training sessions, including mannequin practice and model sessions.
Support color inventory management and salon operations.
Assist with content creation, including before-and-after photos and managing social media.
Attend workshops and training to enhance your skills in hair color techniques.
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in cosmetology school or have active Illinois Cosmetology License
A background or strong interest in hospitality and client relations.
Experience or interest in customer service.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-focused environment while being self-motivated.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for learning hair techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
A positive attitude toward embracing challenges and adapting to new situations in a fast-paced, creative environment.
