Job Description - IT Administrator - Windows/Cisco IT ADMINISTRATOR - WINDOWS/CISCO An established software firm is seeking an experienced IT administrator to join their local office. The IT Administrator person will play a vital part in supporting the technical operations and infrastructure that keeps the organization running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background supporting Windows and Networks and be open to the variety of IT projects for the organization moving forward. You will be an integral part of the smaller National IT team and will work locally with an IT Support person. Looking for a team player who's eager to help where needed. Responsibilities: Assess network systems, operating systems and security layer Manage AD, DNS, DHCP, KMS, NFS, Client, SMTP, clustering Manage Cloud environments and systems (AWS, Azure) Maintain and support all current and future network servers, operating systems and security layers. Upgrade hardware and software programs Install and implement effective security systems Setup and maintain email and internet accounts Perform data backup and recovery processes Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network, systems and programs Be part of an On-call rotation for systems monitoring and incident management Provide reports to senior management regarding appropriate trends and usage data. Design comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies built around key performance and health indicators using Enterprise grade monitoring tools such as Zabbix. Schedule upgrades to hardware and software programs, while not impacting day to day operations, while the trading markets are open Remain current on new technologies and make recommendations to IT management, as needed. Maintain a library of system software and ensure all licensing requirements have been met to keep existing software up to date. Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator Bachelor's degree or equivalent in in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Windows experience required, including working with commands Cisco experience Solid technical skills and experience with a variety of network protocols, software and hardware involved in LAN and WAN operations. Deep understanding of Active Directory and associated services (AD, GPO, DNS, VPN) Strong troubleshooting, analytical and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities. Linux experience is big plus Must be available to be on-call for infrequent after-hours emergencies or network failures. Strong attention to detail and customer-service orientation, as well as the ability to work on a team. Excellent communication skills
