MJ&B Contractors Inc. is seeking a dedicated and organized Project Assistant to join our team. This position is unique as it involves both in-office duties and fieldwork, offering a dynamic and varied work environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong intrapersonal skills, effective communication abilities, keen organization and a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with office correspondence, including answering phones and managing emails.
Type up invoices and proposals accurately and efficiently.
Support project management activities both in the office and in the field.
Driving the MJ&B work van (sprinter) to pick up various construction materials, delivering and unloading them to the jobsite in a safe, timely manner.
Maintain project documents and active logs ensuring they are up-to-date.
Coordinate with team members and subcontractors as needed.
Requirements:
Strong intrapersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to manage office correspondence, including answering phones and emails.
Flexible and adaptable to various work environments (office and field).
The ability to lift over 50 lbs (lumber, jobsite material).
Basic knowledge of building materials is helpful.
Valid drivers license with good driving record (pickups and deliveries via the company’s work van is required).
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role or in the construction industry. But not required.
Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Speaking a second language (Spanish or Polish) is a bonus! But not required.
Social Media Management is a bonus but not required.
