We are looking for an experienced Buyer to oversee procurement activities, maintain inventory levels, and build strong supplier relationships. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a strategic mindset for purchasing, this is the role for you!
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 Annually
Key Responsibilities
Purchase raw materials for manufacturing and business operations.
Monitor market trends, global economic conditions, and supplier markets to make informed decisions.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct bidding processes and negotiate contracts for competitive pricing.
Manage inventory levels to align with production schedules and company goals.
Track and analyze supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost).
Coordinate MRO purchases as needed.
Oversee delivery schedules and proactively address any delays.
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2-4 years in procurement, preferably in the steel industry.
Skills: Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with MIS software is a plus.
