Our client, a metal fabricator located in the Cicero area, seeks experienced spot welders.
Position Summary
The Spot Welder should be capable of set-up and operation of spot welding equipment for production and prototype fabrication methods for steel, stainless steel and aluminum materials.
Responsibilities
Reads blueprints, bills of materials, and written work orders required in the fabrication of welded parts.
Performs own job set-ups, as well as assisting others within the department.
Performs light maintenance on welding equipment, copper tips and fixtures for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of equipment in the spot welding department.
Maintains all shop equipment, tools and fixtures
Keeps accurate production records such as number of good and defective units produced per job. Rejects damaged or non-conforming items; records shortages, and communicates findings to the supervisor.
Responds to emergency situations as needed, for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
