Job description
Are you an Experienced Window Treatment Designer & Fabricator?
Are you a creative and energetic individual with a passion for textiles, sewing and interior design? Don't miss this unique opportunity to work in a design studio that has on-site manufacturing with complete control over the entire design and production process. We are a luxury home textile manufacturer located in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago, known for our family-owned and collaborative creative environment.
We are currently seeking an experienced drapery designer-seamstress to join our team. As a detail-oriented individual with a can-do attitude, you will head the expansion of our window workroom. You are a creative thinker with a good color sense, and have experience working in a cut and sew workroom using commercial machines. An understanding of window measurements and experience with installations are a big plus.
In addition to design and drapery production responsibilities, this role requires some light travel, including planning and setting up of trade shows and interactions with vendors and business partners. Administrative tasks like placing orders, creating product specifications and communicating with other departments are also part of the job. The position includes some physical work, such as lifting bolts of fabrics, carrying boxes, and standing on your feet in a fast paced environment. It is important to note that this is an in-person position and does not offer work from home.
Joining our team will provide an opportunity to learn about the manufacturing-to-market process, global textile sourcing, and designing for specific markets and aesthetics. This position offers hands-on experience in the luxury home textile industry and insights into the world of interior design. Skills in vendor management, relationship building, and handling start-to-finish tasks will be gained.
If you feel you are the right passionate, creative person for this position, please submit your resume, portfolio, and cover letter today for a chance to become an integral part of our design team.
