About us:

Salvage Contracting is a family-owned, non-union demolition company that has been serving the Chicagoland area! We specialize in interior demolition, where you will be working with a crew of individuals of about 3-6 persons at a time. Our typical projects last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, meaning you will have varying tasks to complete & an ever-changing scene with a new project to tackle. Here at Salvage Contracting, as an employee, you are heard. With being a smaller company, you will be reporting directly to the directors, as well as working alongside them in the field. We pride our company on our hands-on approach and open lines of communication.

Duties:

- Perform interior & exterior demolition work at various job sites around the Chicagoland area with an assigned crew at various job sites.

- Proficient in using hand & power tools with the ability to read measurements.

- Safely operate heavy equipment & hand tools for demolition purposes.

- Remove debris & clean up job sites after demolition is complete.

- Read blueprints to confirm demolition scope on a jobsite.

- Be able to communicate efficiently & effectively with your team members & supervisors.

- Ability to work in a team environment & follow instruction accurately.

Job Site Dress Code Requirements:

Arriving to work/the jobsite each day ready to work, which means.

- Work boots are worn on every jobsite.

- You are not wearing clothing with offensive messages, symbols, or meanings.

- You brought your provided hard hat, gloves & required PPE needed to complete the job.

Requirements:

- Hold a valid Driver's License & have access to a reliable mean of transportation.

- Strong physical stamina & the ability to lift 50lbs.

- Have a smart phone capable of downloading apps; we use 2-3 apps in our company, allowing our employees to clock in, request time off & view their pay checks from their phones.

We work within the Chicagoland area, so job locations are based on what project sites you have been assigned to work on. Typically work starts at 7am & ceases at 5pm, which means you will be home every night. We do not work weekends nor require OT, but it is occasionally offered in advance. Occasional overnight shifts do come available on time sensitive, hours of operation jobsites but notice will be given in advance. Occasional travel outside the Chicagoland area may occur but is selective to the employee. If travel is necessary, employer paid hotel stays are provided and travel is not permitted for more than 5 consecutive days at a time, excluding weekends.

Please Note: This position may require working in hazardous conditions; possibly involving exposure to dust, noise, & other construction-related hazards. Proper safety equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week.

Schedule:

8 hour shift

Monday to Friday
