No Duties and Responsibilities Duties and ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration
Performs analysis of pre-processing reports for accuracy and integrity of payroll (e.g. Exempt EE’s Missing Approval, Exempt EE’s with < or > 75 hrs, etc).
Processes and performs reconciliations of Lawson jobs and reports.
Reviews and evaluates pay period exceptions (Missing Time Records, Reserve Report, Paycheck Analysis Report, 0.9% Medicare Report etc.) and follows up to resolve issues identified.
Helps manage the coding and reconciliation of manual time cards.
Prepares and transfers positive pay file to the bank with subsequent validation of file transfer.
Provides ongoing, detailed updates to the documentation of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls.
Prepares EFT requests for ACH , federal, state, and credit union deposits and tracks associated payments.
Assists Payroll Management in evaluating internal controls and policies and recommends changes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Works with the union employees to ensure they are paid according to their contract
Ensures timely and accurate reporting and payment of all Union dues
Oversees the e-pay system.
Processes monthly upload of 90 Expense Report imputed income
Responsible for training and partial supervision of the Payroll Student Worker position.
KRONOS
Provides primary support to the University Employee Self-Service platform and the Kronos Help Desk.
Processes Exempt Employee Upload each pay period
Processes Supervisory Rights Requests
Processes manual time and earnings adjustments in Kronos.
Reviews missing Kronos Manager approvals and follows up as needed to obtain approval
GENERAL
Provides documentation and support to various audit initiatives including fiscal year end, federal grant or internal audits.
Prepares and reconciles deposits made to employer’s federal credit union.
Calculates and initiates retroactive employment payments.
Answers inquiries regarding employment verification.
Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by establishing a culture of confidentiality of all information.
Coordinates department communications, including updating Payroll Services website with FAQ’s and other appropriate documentation and training materials.
Sends out regular communications to Human Resources and other external departments alerting them of payroll deadlines and processing timelines.
Trains university staff on proper payroll policies and procedures via email and in-person training seminars.
Responds to request for copies of pay stubs and W-2s.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Three to five years of related experience in a computerized financial environment.Qualifications Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:

At least three to five years of experience in a computerized accounting environment preferably within Payroll, Accounting or Finance.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and customer service skills (tact, professionalism and courtesy).
Ability to successfully manage and coordinate assigned projects.
Must be able to demonstrate skills that will enable the manager to dissect problems, identify root causes, and offer suggestions to clients to rectify situations.
Ability to work effectively with senior level faculty and staff.
