Paralegal

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. The main function of this role is to provide basic support for attorneys in our team, with a focus on family law. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity where you will be required to handle filings, discovery, and e-filing, among other duties. Responsibilities: Provide basic support to attorneys in our team, primarily those specializing in family law. Handle legal filings in an organized and timely manner. Assist in the discovery process by gathering and analyzing evidence. Maintain a strong knowledge of electronic filing systems and use them effectively. Respond to discovery requests in accordance with legal standards and deadlines. Support the main attorney in managing family law cases. Be open to learning and gaining more experience in family law. Ensure all work is in compliance with the applicable legal standards. Manage and maintain accurate records. Resolve customer inquiries efficiently. Requirements Proficient in Family Law Skilled in managing Electronic Files Experience with the Discovery process Ability to draft legal documents and correspondence Knowledge of legal terminology and protocols Strong research skills Proficient in MS Office and legal research software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize workload Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compliance with ethical standards of the legal profession Bachelor's degree in Law or related field is preferred. Previous experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role is advantageous. Familiarity with the court filing system is beneficial. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Willingness to continually update knowledge of laws and legal practices.
