Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.Summary:The Project Manager provides leadership on stroke specific internal projects or programs from initiation through delivery. Gathers required data from end users to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to define deliverables. Ensures that all targets and requirements are met and are completed on schedule and within budget. Works closely with various internal departments to ensure successful completion of projects. Keep leadership informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or other results. The Program Specialist provides support to the stroke program for Joint Commission Certification in collaboration with the Stroke Program Manager. The Program Specialist is responsible for managing data involved in the comprehensive stroke program, telestroke program, and mobile stroke program. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Other information:Required Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least two years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting. This can include experience during graduate school. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer; strong spreadsheet and database skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to function independently and in a multi-disciplinary, team-based environment. Ability to work effectively with various levels of employees and management; ability to build consensus across diverse groups.Preferred Job Qualifications: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business. Experience working with physician groups and IS. Knowledge of medical and interventional treatment of stroke. Experience with national stroke registries. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements.Responsibilities:Job Responsibilities: Manage multiple projects simultaneously Direct and manage stroke specific project development and progress from beginning to end. Identifying areas of opportunity within the stroke program, and participation in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve outcomes. Manages complex data entry for the stroke registry and participates in training in collaboration with the Stroke Coordinator via the American Heart Association as needed. Collaborate with the Stroke Program Manager to lead projects to support American Heart Association initiatives. Leads preparation efforts for Comprehensive Stroke Center recertification from The Joint Commission Actively participates in recertification surveys from The Joint Commission. Takes a leadership role in development and implementation of Corrective Action Plans at the conclusion of the survey. Estimate and identify the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, including necessary stakeholders and data collection techniques. Develops innovative methods for data collecting and data sharing. Acts as a liaison between the stroke program and inpatient areas for hospital initiatives. Facilitate and participates in routine stroke program meetings to establish and continually manage program requirements and expectations with team members and other stakeholders. This includes responsibility for quarterly quality presentations to stroke program stakeholders. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise interns, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas. Track and report status (progress, next steps, issues) against project plans to appropriate stakeholders and senior management based upon agreed to communication plans. Identify and resolve issues/conflicts and/or escalate where appropriate for resolution. Proactively manage potential scope and schedule changes to eliminate or minimize. Where required, escalate based upon standards established within communication plan. Collaborates with clinical stroke team to enter patients into database. Conduct quarterly audits to ensure data reliability and compliance with The Joint Commission. On-going participation in regional and national stroke committees, and communicating changes to the stroke program requirements and/or stroke database to the rest of the stroke team stakeholders.
