The firm is internationally recognized for its representation of Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes litigation and government-facing matters, as well as its ongoing commitment to pro bono service and diversity, equity, and inclusion.Job SummaryThe Litigation Docket Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the legal docketing system, working with firm attorneys and staff and using the firm’s litigation docketing software. This role provides timely and detailed service to ensure all critical deadlines, court dates, and case-related events are accurately recorded, tracked, and communicated to attorneys and staff. The specialist works closely with legal teams to review court filings, monitor rules and procedures, and update the docket database with relevant information. The Specialist also provides comprehensive administrative and filing support, assists in departmental initiatives, special projects, and handles a variety of docketing and calendaring tasks.Job ResponsibilitiesThe Litigation Docket Specialist is responsible for calculating, recording and docketing litigation related deadlines for matters pending in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations and mediations, and monitoring associated reminders, emails and reports.Review court filings, orders and notices to identify important dates and requirements; enter case information, activity, and deadlines into firm docket system.Ensure compliance with court rules, local procedures, and firm policies regarding docketing.Communicate and coordinate with case teams to review and confirm court deadlines and instructions; communicate deadlines and changes to case teams promptly.Research and/or monitor cases with the use of various online resources, and provide court filing and service information.Respond promptly and professionally to information requests from attorneys and professional staff regarding docketed dates, agency and court rules and procedures.Generate calendar reports and queries for case teams based upon standard procedures, and generate custom docket reports and queries as requested.Assist with service and filing of court documents.Perform Electronic Court Filings in Federal, State and Appellate Courts.Assist with development of department policies and procedures and innovation related projects.Occasional travel to local courts and agencies.Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
