Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an L& E Attorney/Lawyer in CHICAGO, Illinois. This role lies within the legal industry and will require expertise in Labor Law and Employment Law. The job function will involve providing legal counsel and operational support on labor and employment-related issues, managing immigration cases, and collaborating with various teams within the organization.Responsibilities: Provide legal advice on employment law issues such as hiring, compensation, discipline, terminations, pay, and benefits. Collaborate with HR and leaders on employee relations matters, including coaching, discipline, accommodation requests, and benefits issues. Lead or assist in investigations into alleged employee misconduct. Review and provide input on policies, procedures, and specific cases involving employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and Title VII as well as state law equivalents. Assist in managing immigration cases, working with both in-house and outside attorneys. Help to respond to and manage administrative claims/charges, demand letters, and litigation with the assistance of outside counsel. Offer support to the legal team as needed, including matters outside of labor and employment law. Take on miscellaneous tasks as assigned. Requirements Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Active member of the state bar in good standing Proficient in Labor Law and Employment Law Proven experience as an attorney, specifically within Labor and Employment Law Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver innovative legal solutions Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex legal issues Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong ethical standards and integrity Ability to work independently as well as in a team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in legal research tools and software Willingness to keep up-to-date with changes in labor and employment law Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
