Description We are looking for a dedicated Database Administrator to be a part of our team in the transport industry, based in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SQL server and ensuring the security and efficiency of our databases. Responsibilities: Administer SQL Server 2016 or higher, ensuring its optimal performance and security Utilize Powershell for task automation and configuration management Manage Azure SQL services, ensuring scalability and high availability Oversee the operation of MongoDB as an integral part of our database system Use Terraform for infrastructure as code and efficient clustering Manage availability groups to ensure continuous operation of our services Handle Windows setups for SQL, ensuring seamless operation across platforms Administer CosmosDB for globally distributed, multi-model database service Implement backup technologies to safeguard the company's data Carry out cluster analysis for data processing and pattern recognition Conduct regular database administration tasks, including updates, migrations, and troubleshooting. This role requires a skill set that includes Database, EO/IR systems, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Backup Technologies, Cluster Analysis, Configuration Management, Database Administration, Design controls, and SQL. Requirements Proven experience in Database Administration within the Transport industry Proficiency in EO/IR systems Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server Proficiency in MySQL Experience with Backup Technologies Knowledge of Cluster Analysis and Configuration Management Proficiency in SQL Demonstrated ability to manage and administer databases Experience with Design Controls Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred Relevant certifications in database administration are an advantage.
