Construction Finance Accountant

Unison Consulting, Inc. is an aviation consulting company that is seeking an energetic person with experience financial accounting for construction projects. Candidate must have strong analytical skills with experience in accounting, finance, financial software, and financial reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare monthly close accruals.

Preparation of journal entry adjustments.

Reconcile and update the Capital budget within the Capital Projects in system.

Manage grant adjustments to the Capital Projects system.

Reallocate expenditures within the Capital Projects system as additional funds become available.

Reconcile CMAR adjustments to balance Capital Projects system.

Prepare and maintain an audit trail for all adjustments.

Coordinate with the Finance department to resolve variances within the Capital Projects system.

Responsible for developing and presenting regular reports on the status of federal and state grants.

Coordinate with the Finance Department to prepare grant application packages.

Review and identify project costs eligible for grant reimbursement based on the grant agreement.

Determine the eligibility of expenditures within the vendor’s invoice for various grant funding sources.

Maintain the necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource material pertinent to grant activities to ensure effective compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Track expenditures eligible for multiple grants to mitigate the risk of duplicating reimbursement requests.

Responsible for managing and reporting on the airport’s federal and state grants.

Manage reimbursement disputes professionally and efficiently.

Work with the Finance Department to identify and package federal and state grants that can be financially closed.

Assist with reporting to entities providing grants.

Keep NOAB informed about the sources and uses of funds from various sources with various rules for application to the project.

Coordinate with PMO team, CM@R, and NOAB regarding project budgetary issues.

Coordinate with contractors to ensure invoices are in the correct format for project system entry.

Reviewing and ensuring periodic reporting of critical project performance.

Working with the PMO team to identify projects or structures that can be financially closed.

Assist with reporting to entities providing grants and loans as required.

Performing exception-based planned cost validation on a periodic basis.

Other analytical and management tasks are required according to the business needs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education: - Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience: - Financial or accounting background with construction project accounting.

- Consulting experience a plus.

Special Skills: - Experience working with financial systems, databases and reviewing financial reports. Maintains communication with project managers, project staff and vendors, Providing relevant fiscal information.
