Field Service Technician (Electrical)Job DescriptionThe Field Service Technician (Electrical) is responsible for traveling nationally 75% of the time to customer sites, spending a week at each site before returning home on Fridays or over the weekend. The remaining 25% of the time will be spent working in the service office in Arlington Heights, IL, assisting with technical support and hands-on equipment troubleshooting. This role involves repairing, troubleshooting, and installing packaging equipment, as well as training client maintenance staff and technicians/operators. The technician will maintain carton/case packaging machinery and secondary packaging machines such as baggers, wrappers, and box erectors.Responsibilities
Travel nationally 75% of the time to customer sites for equipment repair, troubleshooting, and installation.
Conduct training sessions with client maintenance staff and technicians/operators.
Maintain carton/case packaging machinery and secondary packaging machines.
Troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment including case packers, cartoners, baggers, form, fill, seal, and secondary packaging equipment.
Work on PLCs, Siemens, servos, and ladder logic systems.
Handle machine troubleshooting and equipment installation.
Essential Skills
5+ years of field experience with packaging equipment systems.
Experience with cartoners, case packers, palletizers, baggers, wrappers, and other secondary packaging equipment.
Knowledge of kinetics servo motion/Bosch/Rexroth/Indramat servo motion systems.
Experience with programming capital equipment.
Electro-mechanical capability and willingness to perform hands-on work.
Strong work ethic and customer service skills.
90-100% national travel availability.
Work EnvironmentThe facility is located in Buffalo Grove, IL, with the candidate traveling up to 75% nationally and some international travel to Canada, Mexico, and Italy. The candidate will work with a team of five other Field Service Technicians in a service center with about 20 employees.
