Our 103,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.The position is responsible, in conjunction with the Chief Procurement Officer and staff, to achieve Global Procurement vision and long-term strategy through setting objectives, enabling pathways and funding to achieve those objectives, identifying financial opportunities or obstacles to the organization while evaluating and implementing procurement strategies and programs across Abbott. This position also oversees the Rolling LBEs process, financial reporting as well as financial internal controls.Core Responsibilities:
Drive Strategic Initiatives and Programs: Evaluate and provide recommendations to the Chief Procurement Officer and staff on operational objectives and savings targets to drive vision and long-term strategy. Support execution of key strategic programs, corporate initiative action plans and related results. Ensure key initiatives, programs and related business cases are presented with complete and reliable financials.
Deliver Meaningful Value Stream: Ensure short and long-term Procurement value stream is presented in a meaningful way. Develop, implement and oversee processes to deliver clear and consistent forecasting and reporting of Procurement valued while aligning financial impacts across organizations in a transparent manner. Ensure consistent application of value measurement concepts and related financial impact to revenue divisions and corporate functions.
Champion Cash Flow Generation: In conjunction with the Cash Flow Initiative, provide financial leadership for initiatives and programs from a Global Procurement perspective to further enhance Abbott’s cash flow.
Liaise with Finance Leadership: Develop and maintain relationships and transparent communication with division and Corporate Finance to ensure alignment on current and forward-looking initiatives and programs to drive and deliver meaningful value stream.
Manage Budget and Ensure Financial Compliance: Oversee development of highly accurate rLBE’s in conjunction of the Chief Procurement Officer and staff. Provide clear and meaningful financial reporting. Ensure compliance and champion internal controls and procedures.
Position manages three direct reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
Minimum of 10+ years accounting and financial planning experience
Proficient with financial modeling, systems, tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP
Previous experience successfully supporting manufacturing/supply chain/ operations business units is highly desirable
Driver of change, exceptional business partnering and strategic thinking skills
Strong analytical and problem–solving skills; ability to work across functions and organizations in a global environment
Excellent communication skills with all levels and functions; capable of presenting complex financial information in easy-to-understand formats and terms
Operate independently and adaptable to changing requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities
