About this RoleFiberTel's rapid growth with Quanta Services has led to expansions in the renewables construction industry with large scale trenching operations in New Mexico. This position is a part of that new and exciting opportunity.FiberTel is looking for a Field Mechanicfor our Rathdrum, ID office.The Field Mechanicwill be comfortable operating a company vehicle with a Compressor, Generator, Welder, and Truck Crane working on the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and large trucks. It is preferred that the applicant will have a Class A CDL and have their own tools. This position will require high attention to detail and possess the ability to work with minimal supervision. The applicant should be able to diagnose and repair yellow iron and large truck including engines, electronics, and welding. Pay:$30-40/hr + full benefits/Company VehicleWhat You'll DoPosition Responsibilities:

Inspect, maintain, and repair trucks and heavy equipment

Perform engine repairs and maintenance

Welding on heavy equipment and vehicles

Perform safety inspections

Inspect, maintain, and repair transmission systems

Make necessary repairs to hydraulic and air brakes

Repair and maintain HVAC systems

Make electrical repairs

Perform oil changes as needed

Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment

What You'll BringPosition Qualifications:

5 years experience

Welding & Mechanic background

Class A CDL

Has own tools

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to manage a schedule and organize time

Willing to travel

Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance

Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs

Knowledge of fuel systems; both diesel and gas

Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner

Experience with Ford 6.7 Diesel and GM 6.6 Duramax (Preferred)

Safety Inspection certified (Preferred)

Management experience (Preferred)

Diesel mechanic certified (Required)

License/Certification:

CDL A (Preferred)

Diesel Mechanic Certification (Required)

What You'll GetWorking Conditions: This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including; extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. Physical Requirements: The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Benefits Include:
