Who You Are:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated VFD Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) across various industrial and commercial applications. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, hands-on experience with motor control systems, and a commitment to excellent customer service. This position will require travel throughout the US to help provide service to Dykman’s customer base.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

Commission, and calibrate VFDs and related equipment at customer sites.

Diagnose and repair VFDs (both in-house and in the field), including hardware and software troubleshooting.

Perform routine maintenance and system checks to ensure reliability and performance.

Provide technical support and training to customers on VFD operation and best practices.

Complete service reports, documentation, and follow-up communication in a timely manner.

Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to deliver solutions tailored to customer needs.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.

2+ years of experience working with VFDs and motor control systems.

Strong understanding of AC/DC motors, industrial electrical systems, and PLCs.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.

Willingness to travel for field service calls (50 - 60% travel with overnight stays).

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Able to pass drug test as per job site standards

Preferred Skills:

Experience with major VFD brands such as Yaskawa, Toshiba, Allen-Bradley, or Danfoss.

Knowledge of network communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

OSHA safety training or other relevant certifications.
