THE REQUIREMENTS:
The Legal Assistant/Office Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support to our attorneys, handling tasks related to both litigation and transactional work, while also managing office operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Assistant Duties:
Perform a variety of legal assistant duties to support attorneys in litigation & transactional matters across both Idaho, Oregon, and Washington jurisdictions.
Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, briefs, orders, and subpoenas, from dictation, written instructions, and other materials.
Manage calendars, schedule hearings, motions, meetings, mediations, and arbitrations, ensuring timely notifications to all involved parties.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel professionally.
Proofread and edit documents for accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format.
Review and file legal documents in compliance with court requirements for both state and federal courts (electronic and manual filing).
Assist with general case management and document organization to ensure smooth operation of litigation processes.
Occasional overtime may be required.
Office Coordinator Duties:
Manage daily office operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with vendors.
Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them appropriately.
Maintain a tidy and professional office environment.
Coordinate office events, meetings, and travel arrangements.
Ensure compliance with office policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal secretary, with exposure to litigation and/or transactional work preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong team player, professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using legal software and technology for document management and filing.
Familiarity with Idaho court systems and filing procedures is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Discretion in handling confidential information.
