Job Title: Full-Time Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver
Job Description:
We are seeking a physically strong, reliable, compassionate, and motivated full-time Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver to join our team for Wheelchair and Gurney transportation. If you have a passion for helping others, love working with people, and enjoy driving, this position might be the perfect fit for you. Healthcare experience is preferred, but a desire to work in healthcare and a caring attitude are just as important. As an NEMT Driver, you will be responsible for transporting patients to and from medical appointments, hospital discharges and outings in a safe, timely, and courteous manner. Must be CPR Certified or willing to become certified. Must be over 21 years old to be able to drive.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained vehicle.
Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff to ensure smooth coordination. Must have strong problem- solving skills
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company guidelines.
Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed as well as assisting in their residence.
Ensure proper documentation of transport activities and patient needs.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Over 21 years old.
Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
Must be passionate about working in the healthcare industry.
Must love working with a diverse group of people, including the elderly and those with disabilities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful situations.
Must be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Ability to pass background checks and drug testing as required.
