Wellspring Behavioral Health is seeking a professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Medical Assistant. If you have experience as a certified medical assistant, we encourage you to apply for this position.

The description for this position is as follows:
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
Assist patients with insurance forms and claims.
Call, fax or electronically send prescription/prescription refills to pharmacies and manage prior authorization requests.
Manage medical record requests.
Schedule patient appointments.
Document in electronic medical records
Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certification and training as a medical assistant
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience in general office procedures and practice
Able to pay attention to detail and organize assigned work to produce accurate work products
High school diploma
Familiarity with EHR systems
Computer literate and able to meet deadlines
Preferred Applicants possess the above qualifications plus:
Minimum of 1 year experience working as a medical assistant in a mental health practice
Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
Experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare-related practice
Experience with EHR systems
This is a part-time position, 4 days per week, Tuesday through Friday: 8:45am to 5:15pm. Pay ranges from $18-$22/hr, DOE.
