About the Agency:The Idaho State Board of Education (Board) is established in the Idaho Constitution for the “general supervision of the state educational institutions and public school system.” State law charges the Board with the general supervision, governance and control of public schools and postsecondary institutions, including community colleges. The Board is comprised of eight members: seven appointed by the Governor, as well as the statewide elected superintendent of public instruction. The Office of the State Board of Education (OSBE) is charged with providing professional staff support to the Board and implementing the Board’s policies, programs, and initiatives.Summary: The Next Steps Idaho Program Coordinator position reports to the College and Career Access Officer and helps oversee and drive the vision of Next Steps Idaho as the state’s comprehensive clearinghouse of resources and tools pertaining to education, training, and career exploration. Activities include, but are not limited to:

Content management

Product management and promotion of the Next Steps Idaho website

Business development

Implementation and customer support

Responsibilities:Content Management

Work closely with vendor content team to provide editorial, creative, and technical support

Write, edit, and proo website content

Create new resources and pages using system templates - add images, embedding videos, and add copy

Build Career Pathway Plan Activities

Product Management

Product vision - Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps, and generate new ideas that improve customer experience and drive usage of the Next Steps Idaho website

Create buy-in for the Next Steps Idaho vision both internally and with key external partners.

Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and provide to website vendor

In conjunction with senior management, scope and make tactical calls about how to build specific tools and resources based on business and customer impact

Work closely with vendor’s IT development team to communicate business needs and website requirements, and oversee their delivery of user-friendly, visually appealing interfaces with quick time-to-market and optimal resources

Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with Next Steps Idaho’s annual strategic plan and that the message is effectively conveyed to all user audience groups

Prepare project progress reports for senior leadership and perform website demonstrations

Troubleshoot and test new tools and resources, as well as monitor the live deployment of Next Steps Idaho

Implementation and Customer Support

Product evangelist - Build awareness and understanding of Next Steps Idaho tools & resources by visiting customers to solicit feedback on Next Steps Idaho tools & resources

Build relationships and manage the customer onboarding and nurturing by conducting regular check-ins, managing multi-layer stakeholders, providing ongoing support, monitoring individual site usage, and sharing best practices to drive adoption of Next Steps Idaho

Manage incoming customer inquiries and customer complaints and perform root cause analysis to understand what problems the customer is facing and provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within time limits; follow-up to ensure resolution

Continuously define and document problems and challenges faced by Next Steps Idaho partners and end users through in-person and remote problem-solving sessions

Monitor operational activity (volumes, key performance indicators/metrics, corrective action reporting, performance plans, trends, product content changes, etc.)

Provide customer feedback collected during various customer engagements to senior management

Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents

Develop and drive processes to improve customer satisfaction, service, process, and innovations

Create collateral and training videos to support adoption and understanding of Next Steps Idaho’s tools and resources

Business Development

Contact potential Idaho schools and other organizations through cold calls and emails

Present Next Steps Idaho to Idaho schools and other education organizations

Identify schools/organization needs and suggest appropriate Next Steps Idaho tools & resources

Build long-term, trusting relationships with Idaho schools and educators

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with emphasis in related field or experience that is substantially equivalent

Excellent customer and internal communication skills

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and to work in a team-oriented environment.

MQ Specialties:

Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

Proven working experience as a project coordinator in the information technology sector

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with education stakeholders

Knowledge of current and on-trend college and career readiness resources, tools and, platforms

1-3 years content management experience

Basic knowledge of web accessibility

Basic knowledge of Ul/UX principals, design, and methods

Supplemental Information:

Ability and willingness to travel for in-state meetings with prospective and existing Next Steps Idaho users

Infrequent out-of-state travel will be required.
