Responsibilities Serves as a Commissary Contractor Monitor in a commissary store at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. The primary purpose of this position is conduct quality assurance inspections and contract surveillance duties of a specified commissary stocking, order-writing, custodial, receiving, holding, and/or other contracted services performed in a commissary. Position responsibilities include: Conduct quality assurance inspections and contractor surveillance. Provide comments and recommendations for additions, deletions, or changes to contractor services to ensure compliance with DeCA directives. Approve or reject contractor's work schedule and checks work for quality and timeliness. Maintain the store's space allocations program by such duties as designating to the contractor proper item shelf locations when shelf tags are missing or otherwise not identifiable. Advise commissary or contracted order writers. Act as the commissary manager's representative during the night time hours to ensure government property is secure. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-05 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: Conducting quality assurance inspections and contract surveillance duties of specified commissary or retail grocery contracted services. Apply retail grocery store administration policies and procedures as they relate to established contracts. Monitoring vendors and/or contractors in a retail setting to ensure proper inventory.
