Telecom Technician - Drop Technician

ALOHA! NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED, WILL TRAIN ON-SITE forTelecom Cable Drop TechnicianMonday to Friday, report to Kapolei office at 7:00 am to 4:00 pm HST.Company car will be provided, need to have valid driver's license,MUST pass urine test and bkg checkJob Duties/Responsibilities:

Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon optic cables. Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing. Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task.

Perform work in accordance with industry standards. Be familiar with BICSI standards, read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.

Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps, and in the field with clarity and detail, and make recommendations for changes in running lines or construction methodologies.

Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation. Participate in engineering, permit, and construction processes to support project contracts. Perform routine maintenance.

Recognize and repair route issues, including maintenance, hand hole cleanup, and sign placement.

Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/attach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles. Respond to and participate in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities.

Ensure that all work considers the customer's and general public's safety and compliance with all governmental orders.

Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions. Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation on prints

Willingness to learn and grow!Opportunity to learn the telecom trade and work on various projects - i.e., commercial (Queen's, Department of Energy, Hawaiian Telcom) and government projects (supporting the DoD). Work Environment: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Report to Kapolei office at 7:00 am to pick up tools/car/work order.Working at various customer sites across the island; must have a valid driver's license. A company car will be provided. Business Drivers/Customer Impact:Started supporting this project a month and a half ago. On an ongoing contract, doing drop-installs inside of the home, clearing ducts, and moving into MDU's (multi-dwelling units) will need a team to respond to these installs.Top Skills' Details:1) Seeking a candidate who is looking to get Telecom trade experience (Layer 1 fiber/cat5/cat6). If they have hands-on labor experience and would like to learn the Telecom trade, they are open to training.2) Ability to carry 50 lbs or more as the equipment and tools are heavy.
