Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing, a local mechanical contractor, is looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join their team as an HVAC Service Technician. Being on time, reliable, hardworking and taking initiative is essential.
Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, computer literate, and possess problem-solving skills.
The HVAC Service Technician works under the supervision of the HVAC Foreman. The primary function of the HVAC Service Technician is to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of various HVAC and control systems.
Job Functions:
Diagnose and repair HVAC problems, including component installation and replacement.
The ability to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Control Systems. Includes changing or washing filters, flushing/cleaning drain lines, inspection of belts, pumps, motors, compressors, electrical/control panels, washing evaporator and condenser coils, and cleaning indoor units and grilles.
Possess the technical skills to identify and isolate problems clearly communicating what is needed to come to a resolution.
Ability to talk confidently with the customer, acting as a liaison between the customer and office.
Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized job site. Must leave customer jobsite cleaner than it was at arrival.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used within the company CRM system.
Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications:
High school Diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required.
Previous HVAC experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under constraints and to make the most out of allotted resources.
Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
Attention to detail and completing work to a deadline.
Able to participate in customer relation issues and find solutions to solve customer disputes.
Understands the necessity of maximizing the productivity of the construction and technical workforce.
Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in one or more of the building trades.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose systems malfunctions.
Understand the importance of handling sensitive and confidential information and documents.

Universal EPA Certification.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors, on roofs and in attics/crawlspaces.

Pay:
$35 - $60/hour, based on experience
$5,000 sign-on bonus after 6 months
