Marketing Coordinator, Waimea Valley

We are seeking a marketing specialist with strong marketing, advertising, and social media skills to support Waimea Valley’s marketing initiatives and programs. This position reports to the Assistant Executive Director of Support Services and is responsible for the execution of the marketing plan and budget to enhance and promote the Waimea Valley visitor experience. The position includes advertising coordination and placement, social media postings, special promotions, website maintenance, newsletter preparation and dissemination, and special projects assigned by the Executive Director and/or Assistant Executive Director of Support Services. The position works with the Events Department and Photograph and Video Specialist who assist with documenting projects and coordinating events in the Valley along with a contracted Graphic Designer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Assist the Assistant Executive Director of Support Services in developing the annual marketing plan and budget.

Oversee the company’s marketing budget.

Assist with the development, execution, and monitoring of email, digital, social media, and content marketing campaigns, including creating original content, and conducting market research.

Assist with developing and managing content and social media marketing programs, including blogs and public relations efforts.

Coordinate the printing and placement of all marketing materials and ensure materials are stocked in designated areas throughout the Valley.

Obtain regular customer feedback through the design and supervising on-site and digital surveys.

Evaluate and monitor campaign performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics and creating comprehensive reports

Coordinate marketing and community events.

Create and publish all marketing material in line with marketing plans.

Monitor all signage throughout the Valley to ensure compliance with Waimea Valley sign standards.

Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs and competitiveness.

Conduct market research and identify industry trends.

Plan and implement promotional campaigns.

Prepare online and print marketing campaigns.

Create a wide range of marketing materials.

Work closely with the graphic designer creating, proofreading, and editing copy for various marketing channels, ensuring a consistent voice

Maintains effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant staff is kept informed of marketing activities.

Educational and Training Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field

2-4 years of experience in marketing

Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills

Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing

Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

Must have strong analytical skills to analyze metrics and create reports

Must have a high level of creativity

Working knowledge of Hawaiian history and culture preferred.

Must be people-oriented and able to work well with others.

Must be organized and a self-starter. Must exercise independent judgment to prioritize projects and respond to situations as they arise without direct supervision.

Must project a professional demeanor.

Must be capable of handling public speaking. Must have good oral and written communication skills.

Must have a valid driver's license.

This is a full-time position and regular attendance on a daily basis is required.
