Full time Landscape & Maintenance Technician

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Position Summary:
Makahuena AOAO in Poipu is seeking a dedicated Landscaper / Maintenance team member to maintain the overall appearance, safety, and function of our beautiful oceanfront property. This role will focus on landscaping and grounds maintenance, while also performing a variety of general maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance.
· Plant shrubs, trees, and flowers; prune trees and shrubs
· Remove debris from stairs and walks, rake leaves, mow lawns
· Water trees, shrubs, and lawns; perform irrigation activities & repairs
· Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides as needed (using unrestricted chemicals)
· Operate landscaping equipment: mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, etc.
· Operate utility cart for hauling and debris removal
· Perform minor maintenance on landscaping equipment
General Maintenance:
· Assist in all aspects of property maintenance, including preventive and corrective work which includes cleaning sidewalks, alleyways, hallways, BBQs, and common areas.
· Clean and maintain pool and spa, including chemical checks, vacuuming, tile cleaning, and backwashing filters (will train and company paid certification will be offered after probation)
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· At least one year of grounds maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
· Willingness to perform a wide variety of tasks (landscaping, janitorial, maintenance)
· Good work safety habits
· Trustworthy, personable, and professional appearance and manner
· Strong communication skills and positive attitude
· Ability to operate ground maintenance equipment and perform minor equipment repairs
· Knowledge of proper use of fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be available to work Saturdays
