POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Technical Support Field Technicians field customer concerns and requests, schedule appointments, diagnose problems, and repair systems. Technicians will work independently or in teams depending on the scope of work, specific system training will be provided on the job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Fielding customer calls and emails
Diagnose and repair photovoltaic, battery storage, and other related electrical equipment
Testing equipment and gathering the information necessary to process warranty claims
Walk customers through standard diagnostics and resolutions over the phone
Coordinate service calls and keep homeowners informed of the progress of their support ticket
Enforce company safety policies and practices. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with safety and other applicable government regulations
Ensure maximum customer respect and service on job sites
Perform additional assignments and special projects to meet company goals
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
Fluent oral and written English communication skills to read work instructions
Attention to detail, Excellent communication skills, Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the phone
Strong ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities at once
Mid-level experience using a smart phone, tablet, and internet
Operating knowledge of personal computers, MacOS is preferrable
Strong ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, be reliable, punctual, and seeks to contribute to the constant improvement of an outstanding team and company.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Safely operating company vehicles, climbing ladders, and operating power tools
Constant need to lift light articles; occasional need to carry and lift up to 60 pounds
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
May require overnight stays on the neighbor islands from time to time
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
18+ years old of age
Valid driver's license & clean driving record
Ability to pass Drug/Alcohol Screening and Random Drug/Alcohol Testing throughout employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of experience solar maintenance and repair
Knowledge / experience of both AC and DC systems
General knowledge of NEC, NABCEP Certification
Electrical and Trouble-shooting experience experience a plus
