Construction Labor
Temporary Project Base position: Starts Sunday, 6/22/24 (for 3-5 weeks possibly longer)
Location: Central Union Church of Honolulu
Work Schedule: 8am-4pm Monday- Friday
Pay: $23/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an entry level Helper to assist the Owner with various construction needs. The Labor is primarily responsible for working side-by-side with the Owner to create a smooth, safe and efficient building process. The ideal candidate is self-driven and eager to learn on the job.
JOB DUTIES
- Tidying up work areas and cleaning job site.
- Loading and unloading building materials and construction equipment such as lumber, hammers, power saws, air compressors, power drills, cabinetry, appliances, sinks, etc.
- Preparing worksite, handing tools to workers as they perform various tasks.
- Perform demo on remodeling projects.
- Prime and paint.
- Operate tools and machinery.
- Strictly adhere to safety rules and regulations including OSHA standards.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
The Helper should be reliable, detail oriented, have physical stamina, take direction well, have decent math skills, good communication skills and professional on the job. The Helper will thrive in an environment where they can ask questions and learn on the job.
Must meet most or all of the following requirements:
- Education: High school diploma, GED preferred but not required.
- Experience: None required. However, 6+ months of prior work experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Must have own tools
- Perform other duties as required.
- Flexible schedule and availability to work additional hours or weekends, as projects demand.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Familiar with common manual and power tools and equipment.
- Able to lift 100+ pounds.
