Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced cook for our food program at our preschool for 49 students and 10 staff daily. The Cook/Kitchen Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the kitchen, maintaining food safety standards, ordering and delivering high-quality meals to our students.
Duties:
- Plan and coordinate daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating appropriate portions for family style serving.
- Develop and maintain menus to be approved by the Hawaii Child Nutrition Program and that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our students
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain proper sanitation practices in the kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary to maintain stock
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment
- Manage budgetary concerns by controlling costs and minimizing waste
