Job Summary:

As a Prep Cook, you will be a key player in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients that help bring our delicious dishes to life. You will work closely with our culinary team, contributing to an outstanding dining experience for each guest by ensuring the kitchen is prepped and ready for service.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Ingredients: Accurately prep vegetables, proteins, sauces, and other ingredients according to restaurant recipes and standards.
Maintain Kitchen Cleanliness: Keep prep areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Assist with Food Inventory: Properly store ingredients, assist with labeling, and manage rotation to reduce waste.
Support Chefs: Assist chefs by delivering prepped ingredients and helping in any other tasks needed to maintain an efficient kitchen flow.
Quality Control: Ensure ingredients are fresh, portions are accurate, and all prep work is up to Robata JINYA’s quality standards.
Sanitation and Safety: Follow all food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with the health department regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely, efficient service during peak hours and maintain a positive, cooperative kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen or prep cook role preferred but not required.
Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen safety.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to learn and take direction.
Must have or be able to obtain a food handler’s card.
