Prep cooks enjoy a stable work environment and work off of anticipated business volumes (pars). Prep cooks will utilize a variety of tools including kitchen knives, vegetable processing machines, soup tools, and other kitchen equipment to make the process easier.
Base rates for a prep cook is $15.00 - $16.00 per hour. Prep cook are a part of the tip pool and can expect to earn anywhere from $3 to $6 more per hour in tips. Combined, that's an average of $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, combined depending on the day and shift you work!
Qualifications
Shows up on time as scheduled or proactively communicates when can't work.
Open work availability (preferred)
Has great communication.
Willing to do any kitchen work necessary to keep the business running.
18+ Years or older (required)
Prep cooks are responsible for:
Cutting vegetables according to specifications, preparing soups, frying foods, thawing meats and seafoods according to instructions given.
Experience in restaurant food preparation is required. High volume environments preferred. Minimum 18 years of age is required. Good communication, a high sense of urgency and positive attitude is a must.
Hourly tip amounts are an estimate as the restaurant is not actually open yet.
