Kitchen Team Member – Roasting Macadamia Nuts
Are you nutty about good macadamia nuts? We are! And we are looking for a kitchen team member to have a key role with daily production of roasted nuts, granola, spreads, and other products. The right person will care about quality, efficiency, cleanliness, and positive teamwork.
Responsibilities:
Roast nuts in an oven.
Make spreads, dressing, granola, and other recipes.
Follow all proper food handling, equipment sanitation, and safety operation procedures.
Complete all kitchen logs and records as required by food safety plan.
Keep entire kitchen in an organized and clean state.
Work closely with Kitchen Lead on production plan, changes in daily activities, and equipment issues.
Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Manager and Kitchen Lead.
Experience and Qualifications:
At least one year of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
Hawaii Food Handling certificate or similar program a plus.
Ability to read and follow recipes, with math skills for recipe-related quantities, measurements, and proportions.
Good and clear communication skills for positive team dynamic.
Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to cook, operate kitchen appliances and equipment, and washing or cleaning.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a hot environment.
Standing and walking during the whole shift.
