HiEmployment, a locally owned and operated Staffing Company, is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Lead to join the team for a large banquet and event facility located in Ala Moana/Waikiki.
Schedule: On-Call/Part-Time
Pay: Up to $720 per week, $18/hour
Location: Ala Moana/Waikiki
Primary Function:
The Housekeeping Lead will report to the Housekeeping Manager and provide supervision and leadership skills to train, motivate, and lead a large team. Help maintain brand standards of the housekeeping department and uphold the cleanliness as guided by the rules and regulations of the Department of Health of the State of Hawai’i. ‘
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a supervisory role and similar experience in Janitorial preferred. Team oriented, customer service and enjoys working with large teams.
The candidate should be able to understand, read, and write job tasks and assignments. Must effectively communicate with Staff, Team members, and Guests. The position requires a flexible schedule based on events. Work will be both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to respect and communicate within the diverse culture of our community. The work environment will be crowded and noisy. Temperatures in the workspace may be hot and cold depending on location and client requirements. Flexibility is required as the client may request changes at the last minute. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to climb stairs and walk long distances to access all facility areas. Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on supervision, training, and re-training where necessary to ensure all employees understand and can adequately perform their job duties.
Assist in the daily scheduling of work assignments for staff, ensuring compliance with set guidelines.
Assist in the cleaning responsibilities, including all areas from ceiling to floor. Slate care includes scrubbing; carpet care includes vacuuming, stain removal, carpet extraction, and scotch guarding; and tile care includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffing.
Assist with other cleaning responsibilities, including window washing, stainless cleaning, dusting, scrubbing doors and walls where needed, and other special cleaning projects.
Ability to clean areas at heights above six (6) feet above floor level. Employees who work six (6) feet above floor level will be certified in using fall protection equipment.
Operate HCC forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts once trained and certified
Assure all janitorial supplies are stored and organized; upkeep an accurate inventory of supplies; advise the manager of supplies needed to be ordered; maintain all cleaning equipment used for the center; update daily inspections and reports.
Assist in the distribution and quantity of essential housekeeping and utility supplies and equipment. Ensure staff has adequate cleaning supplies, tools, and materials on hand.
Maintain open communication with housekeeping staff and management at all times, ensuring awareness of all current activities or issues that may require immediate action or intervention.
Abide by all Safety policies and procedures relating to chemical handling and equipment use as they apply to housekeeping procedures.
Abide by all fire regulations/codes involved with the facility.
Perform other related duties as may be required or assigned by Housekeeping management.
