GEN Korean BBQ is one of the largest Asian casual dining restaurant concepts in the United States. Founded in 2011 by two Korean immigrants in Los Angeles CA, the company has now grown to over 30 company-owned locations where guests serve as their own chefs preparing meals on embedded grills in the center of each table. The extensive menu consists of traditional Korean and Korean-American food, including high-quality meats, poultry, seafood and mixed vegetables. - Base Pay: $16- $18/hr to start depending on experience.
Essential line cook duties:
1. Prepare all foods suitable for cooking according to standard recipes to ensure the consistency of products to guests. Visually inspect, select and use food items of the highest quality in the preparation of all menu items.
2. Check and control the proper storage of products and portion control, e.g., high cost meat items.
3. Keep all refrigeration, storage and working areas clean, working condition to comply with Department of Health regulations.
4. Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition.
5. Knowledge of fundamental line cooking.
6. Knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
7. Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements and portion sizes.
Essential dishwasher duties:
1. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots or pans using dishwasher machine or by hand
2. Maintain a clean and tidy work area
3. Follow health and safety guidelines
4. Sort and stack clean dishes; Carry clean dishes to proper storage areas
