Roy’s Waikoloa is looking for an experienced & creative Sous Chef to join our Ohana. You will be assisting the Executive Chef with training & directing all kitchen staff, maintain quality control during preparation & service, manage inventory & purchasing. You must be able to be an effective/efficient leader who can motivate & work with kitchen staff.
Candidates must be capable of, but not limited to, the following duties/requirements:
Exceptional leadership skills
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Maintain proper food/labor costs
Ensure all food safety regulations are followed
Maintain a clean kitchen & follow all state food safety and sanitation laws
Maintain quality and proper food presentation of food (with adherence to Roy Yamaguchi Restaurant Standards)
Ability to motivate employees and work as a team.
Able to stand long periods and withstand various activities such as standing & bending.
Extensive skill, knowledge and experience in all aspects of the kitchen operation, interpersonal service skills, organizational skills in order to plan time effectively.
Here are some of the Sous Chef Requirements and Qualifications needed:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sous chef in a restaurant or similar environment preferred.
ServSafe Certification
Proven leadership and creative abilities
Current knowledge of trends in the restaurant industry
Work varied shifts, including weekends & holidays
