Agricultural Processor position available at the Hawaiʻi ʻUlu Co-op's Hilo facility!
Agricultural processors at the ʻUlu Coop transform raw agricultural goods and ingredients into finished products. At the ʻAlae facility in Hilo, much of our work currently revolves around the production of ʻulu flour and flour-derived products, and may involve working with common allergens including wheat, tree nuts, and dairy. The scope of this work is constantly evolving as we develop new products and processes!
Specifically, we are currently hiring a part-time position five days/wk (M-F) for about 5 hours each morning. There may be opportunities to pick up more hours if other shifts need coverage.
Shifts involve physical labor, including operating machinery and moving up to 50lbs. Good vision (corrected vision is fine), hearing (corrected hearing is fine), and situational and spatial awareness are important parts of staying safe in the kitchen.
Agricultural processors must follow the HUC Dress Standards for personal and product safety.
This position starts at $18.00/hr.
Benefits include 0.0612 hours of PTO accrued per hour worked, medical and dental packages, and 20% off co-op products.
Target start-date: 08/15/25
There MAY be an option to go full-time within a few months of starting. Full-time work availability not guaranteed.
