They construct, extend and repair buildings, and other structures such as foundations, walls, chimneys, or decorative masonry work. This is a safety sensitive position.Position Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Must reside in Guam.

Valid Driver’s License, required.

Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.

Must be able to take initiative.

Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.

Workers must provide their own safety footwear.

Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders.

Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.

Must be reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading.

OSHA 10 Certification.

CPR & First Aid Certification.

Essential Duties:

Laying bricks and applying or removing mortar with a trowel.

Working accurately from detailed plans and specifications.

Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials.

Using spirit levels and plumb lines to check building alignment.

Using hand tools, power tools and brick-cutting machines.

Constructing arches and ornamental brickwork as well as repairs and maintaining building blocks.

Measuring out build areas and setting out the first rows of bricks and damp course.

Fasten brick or terra cotta veneer to face of structures, with tie wires embedded in mortar between bricks, or in anchor holes in veneer brick.

Restoring, cleaning, or painting existing brick structures.

Promotes a safe work environment and communicates jobsite hazards.
