RESPONSIBILITIESI. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine laboratory procedures in one (1) or more of the following areas: Triage, Cytology Prep, Histology, Oncology Lab Services, Molecular Diagnostics/Biorepository or Phlebotomy. Performs duties in accordance with policies and procedures as established by the department and The Queen’s Medical Center.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking. Continuous: walking. Frequent: sitting, standing, twisting body, lifting and carrying usual weight of 20 pounds, reaching below shoulder, repetitive arm/hand motion, frequent gripping of an object. Occasional: stooping/bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, lifting and carrying weight up to 10 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds of force, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Associate’s degree with post-secondary courses in biological sciences, chemistry and mathematics; or two (2) years post-secondary education including biological sciences, chemistry and mathematics. Associate’s degree in laboratory science preferred.B. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year recent work experience in laboratory science, laboratory medicine or hospital setting preferred.
