Position Overview:
Our homeschool pod is seeking a dedicated, heart-centered anchor teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. The position is for a combined 4th/5th grade class of 7 girls, ages 9–10, meeting 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday), from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
We are a Waldorf-inspired learning community nestled in a custom indoor/outdoor classroom space in a private jungle setting on the North Shore of Kaua‘i. Our approach blends the best of Waldorf education, sustainable living practices, and the wisdom of Hawaiian culture. We follow a Waldorf-inspired rhythm with an emphasis on storytelling, handwork, nature connection, and experiential learning. Our curriculum is guided by the seasons and the needs of the children.
We are a tight-knit group of families who value open communication, shared responsibility, and reverence for the natural world. We hope to find someone who wants to be part of our extended ʻohana.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a gentle, imaginative, and kind-hearted teacher who brings both warmth and structure to the classroom. Someone who embodies “loving authority”—firm yet compassionate, creative yet consistent.
You’ll work alongside specialty teachers in music, handwork, and wilderness education, with strong support from a group of engaged and collaborative families.
Qualifications/Experience:
Ideally, candidates will have experience with Waldorf pedagogy, homeschool teaching, or nature-based education. Formal credentials are welcome but not required—heart, presence, and alignment with our values matter most.
