Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Language educator to join our team. The ideal candidate should be a team player with a deep commitment to student engagement, an innovative mindset, and experience in a school environment. You will play a pivotal role in guiding students through meaningful, inquiry-based learning experiences that connect project content to real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create lesson plans and curricula that meets the needs of middle and high school students
- Teach students speaking, writing, reading, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and composition
- Teach students about Spanish culture, including food, festivals, dress and social conventions. Organize events where students can showcase their Spanish skills
- Design, plan, and implement PBL units that align with curriculum standards and foster student creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking
- Create a student-centered project environment that encourages inquiry, experimentation, and reflective learning
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate PBL across subjects, ensuring a cohesive and interdisciplinary approach
- Assess student learning through authentic assessments, including project presentations, portfolios, and reflective practices
- Provide students with continuous feedback and support, fostering a growth mindset and encouraging self-directed learning
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success and development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid teaching credential or certification relevant to the position preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to a flexible and dynamic learning setting
- Passion for engaging students in meaningful, real-world learning experiences
- Proven experience with PBL or similar innovative instructional methods
- Strong understanding of project design, inquiry-based learning, and authentic assessment strategies
