Farm Description: Paradise Meadows is a 75+ acre farm which buys and processes Macadamia Nuts, Ka’u Coffee and Hawaiian Honey. It markets our Macadamia Nuts, Chocolate covered Mac Nuts, Roasted Ka’u Coffee, Tropical Shortbread Cookies, Honey, Original and Reproductions of Hawaiian Art and Hawaii themed Products, through our brand, Hawaii’s Local Buzz, at our retail “Farm Stand”, our e-commerce website, and wholesale to retailers in Hawaii and on the mainland.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Business Manager. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing both retail and wholesale operations, managing staff, and liaising with suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Manage a team including 16 employees involved in processing raw farm products, producing finished goods, packaging, sales, and greeting visitors.

Oversee day-to-day operations of both retail and wholesale segments of the business.

Work closely with suppliers to negotiate purchase prices, establish delivery schedules, and ensure timely receipt of raw materials.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and resolving any issues promptly.

Work with employees to maintain and repair critical farm and processing equipment. Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment a big plus.

Must love and be willing to help care for a wide range of “pet” animals including parrots, ducks, chickens, cats, guinea hens and a large pet pig.

Monitor and analyze inventory levels to optimize stock levels and minimize shortages.

Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity across all aspects of the business.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the processing and packaging of products.

Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to align business strategies and achieve overall company goals.

Qualifications:

Supply Chain Management, in Agriculture or related field.

Have experience in a managerial role, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment.

Proven track record of successfully managing teams and driving operational excellence.

Strong negotiation skills and experience working with suppliers and vendors.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization and with a wide range of educational backgrounds and abilities.

Knowledge of spreadsheets a must. Knowledge of other business management software (e.g., QuickBooks) a plus.

Construction experience/skills a plus

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food processing and packaging is a plus.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
